| For an outdoor staircase it needs to be
durable and able to stand-up to the elements. There are varied
materials used from treated pine, hardwood and galvanised steel. The
most common design would be an open rise staircase, which is a
staircase without riser boards. The reason for this is so water
cannot pool on the stair which could promote premature aging. No
risers in a stair can also give a more open feeling. Care should be
taken to fully coat the stair with a paint finish or related sealer
to preserve and protect for many years to come. |
